Bobby's Wedding, Hershey, and Other Summer Fun

It's been another eventful two months.  Jacob is babbling up a storm, rolling over at will, and starting to figure out the mechanics of crawling and sitting up on his own.  He's also started on solid foods, aided by the six teeth that have come in in a short amount of time.  Rose is doing great as well, enjoying the warm weather and growing every day.  She's still trying to figure out the big girl potty, but after our trip to Bobby's wedding and Hershey, where she got to stay in a big bed, she convinced us to convert her crib into a toddler bed and is doing great with it.

We went down to Landoll's Mohican Castle for Uncle Bobby's wedding in mid-June.  It was a great time for all (other than the drive in on what were generously labelled "roads").  Rose slept in a sleeping bag on a fold-out couch, and she got to be the flower girl while Gavin was the ring bearer.

Gavin took the handoff and raced up the middle, right to Uncle Bobby as he was told.  He wouldn't even stop when the officiant offered to help him up the stairs or take the ring box.  Rose proceeded at a much more leisurely pace.

A week later, we spent a week in Hershey, PA for the NSS Convention.  Erin, Josh, and the kids had fun outside while the other adults were in meetings.  But we did have time for some fun too.

There was a live band after Tuesday night's banquet, and man did Rose and Gavin have a blast dancing with the other kids!

Wednesday we went to Hershey Park.  It was a bit warm, but still fun.  After struggling to get Rose on the carousel, she ended up riding eight other rides, including the Tilt-O-Whirl and Scrambler!

After two fun but hectic weekends away, it's good to be back home until football season.  We celebrated our 5th anniversary last week, and showed Rose our wedding video to celebrate.  It's now her favorite "movie" and she loves seeing all her friends and family on TV.

Two Eventful Months

It's been an eventful two months, not only with St. Patrick's Day and Easter, but also with Rose's first haircut and Jacob's baptism.  Jacob continues to grow and develop.  He can now sit up with some help, and has taken over Rose's high chair at the dinner table, bumping her to a big girl stool.  Jacob also will babble up a storm if you let him, and has just started to roll over in both directions.

Rose continues to grow and develop as well.  She's just the 2 1/2 year old ball of energy you'd expect her to be, with an imagination that continues to impress.  When she's not playing outside, she loves having her Dr. Seuss books read to her.

Onto the pictures.

Pigtails!

Strawberry Shortcake came to American Greetings.  After talking about her all week, once Rose saw her she didn't want to go anywhere near her.  Thus the picture with Mommy and Jacob instead.

And now, jumping back to Easter pictures.

That was a lot of pictures.  I'm spent.

March Update

St. Patrick's Day pictures are coming soon, complete with matching outfits made by Mamaw.  In the meantime, here are some random pictures from the past few months.

Jacob is now two months old, and is starting to smile, laugh, and interact with the world around him.  He especially loves to smile for his older sister, which is good because Rose loves her little brother.  Rose continues to grow and mature.  She's putting together more and more complex sentences (and paragraphs) and loves doing puzzles.  She can't wait until the weather's nicer so she can run around outside more (Mom and Dad agree), but until then she's happy building snowmen and making snow angels.

Now, onto the pictures.
