Fast and Furious Fall

This fall flew by, with both kids now in school and in soccer. Before we post the Christmas pictures, here's a look back at the fall.

Rose turned 6 and is now in kindergarten.  In August she joined the No Training Wheels Club, and it's hard to believe she ever struggled to get there.  Rose loves going to full day kindergarten, and her teacher and friends love having here there.  It's impressive how quickly she's learning and growing, picking up sight words and even starting to add and subtract.  Speaking of growing, Rose is now officially 4 feet tall and has already lost five teeth, and the sixth is already pretty loose.

Jacob is days away from turning 4.  He started preschool and absolutely loves it.  It's adorable listening to the two kids asking each other how their days went.  Jacob is still a bundle of energy who loves to talk and sing, and he's learning and growing just as quickly as his sister.

Now, onto the pictures!

Speeding through Summer

It's been a busy summer, as both kids are now old enough to participate in sports and other activities.  Rose is now a preschool and safety town graduate.  This summer she played soccer and t-ball, and even filled in on a coach pitch team a few times.  She loved playing with the older girls.  Rose is counting down the days to the start of kindergarten, as Mom and Dad are furiously ordering school uniforms, filling out forms, and buying school supplies.  In the meantime, Rose is working on riding a bike without training wheels.  She does love riding her scooter, and shows a great sense of balance on that.  She also keeps bugging us to go to Home Depot for supplies to build our own Ninja Warrior course in the backyard.

Jacob started totball this past summer, and had his first soccer practice last night.  He's a bundle of energy on any sports field, or running around the neighborhood.  After worrying about him not speaking, he now talks up a storm and loves singing to himself.  Jacob is eagerly awaiting the start of preschool.

For both kids, this summer also meant the summer reading program and time on the slip-n-slide and in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.  After Rose's adventures in coach pitch softball, both kids now love having the ball pitched to them in the back yard, and both are developing into better hitters than Daddy.  There's a project in Northeast Ohio where people paint and hide small rocks, and both kids have been lucky enough to find and rehide one.  In the few weeks between the end of baseball and the start of school, we've also managed to cram in quite a few museum and zoo trips.

Onto the pictures.
