Spring Update

A lot has happened in the last three months.  But before the pictures, the words.

Rose is signed up for a preschool this fall, but if she had her way I think she'd want to start today.  She loves to "read" books from memory, but more recently she's been more and more interested in the letters, words, and punctuation on the page.  ("That's a question mark!  What's your question.")  She loves playing with kids her age.  And... she's now fully potty trained!

Meanwhile, Jacob has gone from crawling to walking to running in very quick order.  Jacob took his first steps a little later than Rose did, but once he figured it out he was off.  He's also been good with his baby signs lately, although he now thinks every animal is a bird.  Speaking of animals, now that spring has arrived, our "pet" chipmunk Max is back, and Jacob loves him just as much as Rose does.  And speaking of speaking, Jacob loves to babble and sing all day long.  Every once in a while, he'll repeat a word we say, especially if Rose is the one who said it.  His favorite is yelling "Pop pop pop pop pop!" when playing with bubbles.

In short, it's going to be a fun summer.  Onto the pictures....

Christmas music at Great Grandma's house

Rose immediately climbed on the sled she got for Christmas, and Jacob immediately pushed her around the room on it.

Can I play outside with them?

On Easter morning, we had an egg hunt in our living on.  Jacob loves picking things up and putting them in other things, so he was a natural.  Rose, meanwhile, learned that it's better to collect a bunch of eggs and then open them to eat the candy inside, instead of stopping after each egg to eat its contents.
