Four Month Pictures (plus a few with Grandpa K)

Grandma and Grandpa K visited last week.  Grandpa K got to hold Rose first, and passed her off to Grandma just as she (Rose, not Grandma!) started getting fussy.  So we ended up with pictures of one grandparent but not the other.

This past Friday, Rose turned 4 months old.  She's gotten bigger and continues to explore the world around her.  Her "talking" (babbling) has increased to conversations, and she talked with her new mobile for a good 15 minutes the other day.

Rose has rolled over a few more times, mostly at her nursing support group, where there's always lots to look at.  Rose's legs look like they're ready to crawl; now her arms just need to catch up.

Rose has gotten much better grabbing and holding things, but of course everything she grabs ends up in her mouth.  She'll even try to grab things by putting her feet around them, but hasn't had much luck with that.  She will take her pacifier out and try to put it back in (with her hands of course), but she hasn't quite figured out that it needs to be turned a certain way first.

We think that Rose is starting to teethe.  There are no visible signs of teeth yet, but everything that ends up in Rose's mouth (especially Daddy's fingers) gets chomped on pretty hard.

Rose also does a neat little trick where she'll have her pacifier in of one side of her mouth, her fingers in the corner, and her tongue sticking out.  Yes, she now loves sticking her tongue out, and of course we encourage it as much as possible.  (Like we said, Parents of the Year!)  Rose has also discovered her legs, especially when they're bare, and will try to grab them with her hands and move them to her mouth.

Rose also tries to help with her diaper changes - sometimes.  She'll put her legs up to be wiped when her diaper comes off, then put her ankles together when it's time to pick up her legs and put the new diaper underneath her, then put her legs back down when it's time to fasten the diaper.  Of course, she seems to think that Daddy can fasten her diaper in 2 seconds, and starts laughing and kicking her legs everywhere when she can't.

We put her jumperoo together a few weeks ago.  Even though she can't quite reach the ground yet, she loves it.  We put a box under, and she loves jumping and sliding around.  She also loves looking at the lights and playing with all of the toys attached.  And of course, trying to chew on the seat.

OK, onto the four month pictures.  Erin wanted a St Patrick's theme and John wanted a baseball team (since he normally wore #4), so we went with both.

Now you want me to do what?!

What do you mean we're not done yet?
The two of us met playing softball for Ironwood Cafe, where Erin wore number 4.  Here's the picture commemorating that.
And I'm spent.

But I'm not too tired for my jumperoo!
